A Little About Me: Kate

The name is Kate. I'm a sophomore at the University of Maryland. Sports are pretty much my life. The Washington Capitals are my drug of choice. 

I am still new to this whole hockey thing. I'm a fast learner though so I'm sure you won't even know that I just started watching hockey this time last year. 

My first Caps affair was the convention this past year. I had never met any hockey players before so I was pretty much in awe. My first hockey game was Caps/Ducks. It was so much fun watching us come back from three down to tie it and win it in overtime, much less my favorite player scoring both the tying goal and game winner. 

I spent this past winter break at Kettler going to every practice I could. I took too many pictures, met too many players, spent too much money at Front Page. I've almost been run over by Semin. Asked John Carlson to tebow and he RUDELY refused. He also yelled at me because I was trying to take too many pictures. Every trip to Kettler is an adventure with me. 

What is the purpose of this blog? I have a lot of thoughts and opinions when it comes to the Washington Capitals. I'm always positive and am looking on the bright side of things. I want to help spread these thoughts and try and make some sense of all of these thoughts in my head. I make graphics, take pictures, get quotes, find material for other blogs.... why not make my own?

Roxy is one of my best friends and I can't wait to start posting things on here. I'm not sure as to what we will be posting exactly but I'm sure we will recap games, say our thoughts, especially on different issues that concern the Capitals. 

I love the whole team as a whole and every single player but my favorites are Nicklas Backstrom, Dmitry Orlov, and Michal Neuvirth.

A Little About Me: Roxy

The name is Roxy, I'm a college freshman at Radford University, transferring to JMU in the fall (yes that is a very necessary piece of information.) I'm a media arts major and I spend most of my time writing, making graphics and videos.

I've been a rabid hockey fan pretty much since the 2010 winter olympics. I've been in the hockey community a little longer than Kate, but that being said she's still very knowledgeable on all things hockey :D I tend to have a very good memory about all things hockey, and I am more into things going on in the league than just with my team.

I'm a Northern Virginia native, so obviously the Caps are my team. Both of us tend to spend WAY too much of our time at Kettler, and have many, many ridiculous stories involving the Washington Capitals because of it. The purpose of this blog at this point is mainly to recap things, talk about hot topics that we both have opinions on, and maybe even share our stories on here with our pictures and videos that we make.

My first game ironically was at the TD garden, the Bruins vs Blues last November. Since then I regularly attend games at the Verizon Center, but have also travelled to Chicago and Raleigh to see NHL games. Also managed a trip to Hershey this past weekend!

So that being said, I hope you all enjoy us and our unique brand of humor! We like to think we're hysterical, at least. And we feel it'll be nice to get out our optimism here, since it seems to be growing thin in our fanbase.  I'm really excited to get this going with Kate since she's one of my closest friends :D  Look forward to getting it up and running!
